Alan Grujic serves as both the Chief Technology Officer and Operating Partner of Tigerblocks and it’s affiliates. Alan also serves as the Co-Founder & the CEO at Silvertrain AI. He has programmed robotic automotive assembly lines, ran bond and derivatives trading departments in Toronto, London, and Tokyo, and founded or co-founded several financial technology companies.

The first company Alan co-founded grew to be the largest proprietary trading firm in Canada and a major market participant in Europe and the US by building proprietary low-latency trading algorithms. The company, Infinium, was an early adopter of machine learning techniques.

After that, Alan founded and ran a large quantitative hedge fund that leveraged extremely large data sets and complex statistical data science techniques. Most recently, he founded and built a mobile and web-based trading app with innovative back-end data analytics that was acquired by PayPal.

Alan holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto. 

Outside of work – he’s probably reading, traveling, squeezing in some exercise, and very much enjoying time with his family.
